CU Foundation Scholarship

Every year the Credit Union Scholarship Program offers $12,000 in scholarship funds to credit union members entering their freshmen through senior year of college or trade school may apply.

Eligible credit union members may apply for one of ten $2,000 essay-based scholarships and one of two $2,000 video-based scholarships.  And yes, eligible members may apply in both categories!

The deadline for 2025 applications will be midnight, on April 15, 2025. Awards will be announced in June 2025. Please watch for the winners and plan on submitting your entries for the 2025 Scholarships beginning in September 2024 and running through April 15, 2025. 

The 2025 year’s essay topic: “Credit unions play a significant role in promoting financial wellness among their members. How do you believe credit unions contribute to the financial health and stability of individuals and communities? Discuss specific benefits and provide examples or personal experiences to illustrate their impact.”

The 2025 video topic: “Create a 60 second video depicting how credit unions contribute to the financial health and stability of individuals and communities.“

PLEASE NOTE: Parental membership does not qualify applicant. All applicants must themselves be a member of a participating credit union.

Applicants must be entering their freshman through senior year of college or trade school.  This scholarship does not apply to students in post-graduate programs nor payment of student loans.

We’re pleased to offer this opportunity for our members. The awardees receive needed financial assistance to help them meet their tuition expenses and the application topics stimulate innovative and useful responses to help us better serve our members.
